Houman Shahabi bags 3 awards in Japan

Iran director Houman Shahabi has grabbed three awards from the 2019 edition of the Top Indie Film Awards in Japan.

Shahabi’s short film, ‘Only This Once’,  succeeded to win awards for best short, best writing and best director at the Japanese event.

It also won several nominations in best music, best editing, best sound, and best cinematography categories

Besides being an online competition, the Top Indie Film Awards has changed now to have a live screening for the award winners along with a cash prize.

The event announces winners and nominees three times a year with last year's best entries going on screen in Tokyo on February each year.

‘Only This Once’ was submitted to the gala on April and was picked for the 2019 Spring winner’s list.
